A TEAM effort to deliver free meals to vulnerable people is underway as players from Newton Abbot Rugby Football Club lend a hand to the district’s food bank charity.

Homeless in Teignbridge Support (HITS) food bank has been delivering meals cooked by a Michelin trained chef – come councillor, Chris Jenks and father, Newton Abbot Mayor, Richard Jenks.

The hot meals are then distributed by the volunteers from the sports the club who work in shifts to feed elderly and vulnerable people in the area.

The group has several volunteers which include players and parents.

To arrange a Wednesday meal, please call Wendy on 01626 369135 (preferably between 9am and 11am or 4pm and 6pm) by 1pm on Tuesday.
