A FORMER top judge visited Teignmouth Community College to talk about the work of the Lords and government.
Baroness Butler-Sloss was the first female Lord Justice of Appeal, and at one time was the highest ranked woman judge in the UK.
She met sixth form students as part of a government initiative for members of the House of Lords to visit schools and colleges.
Her topics also included how her work in the Lords has influenced changes in statute, and her career path which started in 1959.
During a question and answer session, the Baroness was able to give a unique insight into the work and processes of the House of Lords and Commons.
Many of the key government issues were discussed, including the proposed changes to university fees, which will affect many of the students.
