RAIL passengers suffered delays due to signalling problems between Plymouth and Newton Abbot this morning.
Cross Country services and Great Western Railway trains were affected by the problems which were reported after 8am.
Engineers from Network Rail were quickly on site at Totnes working to resolve the problem.
Signalling was restored just before 10am.
Train tickets were being accepted for Stagecoach bus services and on South West Trains between Exeter St Davids and Waterloo.
A spokesman for GWR said: ‘A signalling problem at Totnes caused delays of up to 40 minutes to trains between Plymouth and Newton Abbot.’
