TEIGNBRIDGE Council has added another award to its already impressive collection after bagging the Best Council Initiative Award.

The authority and regional partners involved in the Better Business for All (BBfA) partnership picked up the accolade at the Devon FSB Council Awards 2016.

The BBfA is a Government initiative aimed at local authorities to consider and change how local regulation is delivered and received in order to promote growth in small to medium sized businesses.

After only being involved with the partnership for the past two years, Teignbridge has been acknowledged for its successful role in its development and expansion.

This has been achieved through initiatives including newsletters to businesses and staff training.

Cllr Doug Hellier Laing, Teignbridge’s executive for economy, skills and tourism, said: ‘This is great news and highlights our commitment to supporting the growth and success of local businesses.

‘The award is a testament to the time and work put in by our dedicated team, and the strength of the partnership they have helped form.’
