SHALDON Bridge will be closed for essential maintenance from 9.15am tomorrow until 6am the following morning. The work is part of the ongoing restoration and refurbishment of the structure. 

The lifting section of the bridge will be gradually raised a few inches at a time, with maintenance work being undertaken at different stages.

There will be no public access during the closure, but diversions via the South Devon link road will be signed.

While the bridge is closed, the Shaldon ferry will be operating later – until 8pm, weather permitting – to give pedestrians access between the village and Teignmouth.
