THE FOOTPATH along Dawlish sea wall has now fully reopened a week ahead of schedule.

The path was battered by two consecutive storms in February which also left a void at Sprey Point in Teignmouth and a sink hole at Buddy’s Cafe.

Repair work has been ongoing by engineers working for Network Rail.

A spokesman said: ‘We have a small amount of work left to do, but this can be safely completed while the footpath is in use.

‘Thank for your patience while we carried out the extensive repairs.’

Repairs to the storm damage have taken several months and contractors were faced with working in poor, wet weather conditions along with high tides.

Buddy’s at Red Rock cafe reopened earlier this month after the huge sink hole was repaired while the owners then carried out work on the building and outside decking.
