IT was like a United Nations gathering when 51 marine scientists from around the world visited Teignmouth to inspect the new sea defences.

The £12 million worth of engineering by the Environment Agency at Shaldon and Teignmouth back beach incorporated some of the latest technology, and has attracted the interest of experts from many countries.
