SCREEN star Colin Firth is set to play ill-fated Teignmouth yachtsman Donald Crowhurst in a new feature-length movie.

Filming of the story about Crowhurst's doomed attempt to compete in the 1968 Sunday Times Golden Globe Yacht Race is expected to begin this spring.
