CHILDREN from Wolborough Primary School paid a visit to the offices of the Mid-Devon Advertiser to find out about newspapers and journalism.

As part of the school’s Enrichment Community Programme, two groups of pupils called in on the paper’s Newton Abbot head offices on Friday.

They were welcomed by editor Nick Knight and his team of journalists and members of the advertising team.

The children, aged seven and eight, turned the tables on Nick to interview him about the history of Newton Abbot’s newspaper, the Mid-Devon Advertiser.

They then questioned him about his time as a journalist in local newspapers for more the 40 years and found out how to become journalists themselves.

They undertook to become young journalists too and were set a deadline to produce some stories and pictures for next week’s paper.

Make sure of your copy to admire their work.
