POLICE are warning farmers they could be targeted by a scam caller.
The force’s Neighbourhood Alert scheme has put the warning with a spokesperson saying: ‘We believe that some farms may have been contacted by a male cold calling by telephone offering large amounts of agricultural items with a storyline of the items being at a reduced price.
‘We believe this could be a scam and advise that people should not buy from cold callers – as the risks are high.
‘Please be wary of this and inform others.’
‘Anyone with information is asked to please email 101@dc.police.uk or phone 101.’
‘Thank you.’
