THE recent high tides enabled a yachtsman to sail across a pub car park.
Peter Hearne, of Teign Corinthian Yacht Club, which has a dinghy based at Coombe Cellars, took advantage of the flooded part of the car park, which must be a first.
The riverside inn is vulnerable to flooding, and a spokeswoman said the latest inundation was not the worst they had seen.
'It was only for a day. Trade did suffer, but part of the car park was usable and we stayed open,' she said.
