AT the age of 60 years young, a Newton Abbot woman ran the London Marathon in aid of Rowcroft Hospoce.
Gilly Green complete the renowed event in four hours and forty-six minutes.
Gilly said: ‘It was a privilege to be part of the London Marathon in my 60th year and I had such a great day out running through the streets of London.
‘I wanted to support Rowcroft as it is a vital organisation for the people of South Devon caring for loved ones with cancer related illnesses.’
Having first run the marathon in 1983 at the age of 21, Gilly pledged to revisit the event upon turning 60, a pledge the fitness instructor stuck to all these years later.
Gilly has specialised in Pilates and functional exercise, running classes in Newton Abbot.
