A CHARITY and Teignmouth Town council appear to be at loggerheads about the provision of life-saving defibrillators in public places.

And the chairman of Shaldon Parish Council says he is 'annoyed and embarrassed' that a machine promised to the village by Teignmouth has not materialised.

Heartbeat, set up by Mike and Shirley Brokenshaw, has raised about £7,500 to provide three defibrillators, and two have already been installed – at Eastcliff by the yacht club, and Seasports SouthWest on the harbourside.

They have enough funds for a third, which they are planning to place on the wall of solicitors firm Scott Richards in the town centre.
