VOLUNTEERS from Teignmouth Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) were called to help rescue a dog in distress near Watcombe Beach on Monday (April 13).
The Teignmouth Lifeboat crew were paged at 11am.
They swiftly launched the Teignmouth RNLI Claude and Kath Atlantic 85 lifeboat and were soon on the scene.
The volunteer lifeboat crew helped extract the dog, which had ran away from its owner, who was unable to safely reach the dog.
With a helping hand from Torquay’s Coastguard, the crew were able to retrieve the dog and take it ashore, where it was reunited with its owner.
Teignmouth lifeboat was stood down and returned to station, where it was recovered and made ready for service again by midday.
