A TEIGNMOUTH 'teenager who dropped out of school, has a starring role in a new TV reality show starting next week.

Ricki Bourne, 16, is one of 20 youngsters who failed at school, taking part in top chef Jamie Oliver's latest crusading project, Jamie's Dream School, which should attract an audience of millions.

He has enlisted a team of famous celebrity 'teachers' to try and inspire the students to learn, and take an interest in a wide variety of subjects.

Ricki went to Inverteign and Hazeldown primary schools in Teignmouth, but left Dawlish Community College at the age of 15 because of family problems, with only one GCSE.

He was recruited from about 1,000 applicants by the chef, and reckons the experience has done him the world of good.
