A RETIRED gardener who suffered

from depression was found hanging

at his home in Denbury on Saturday.

Denis Thomas Guppy, of Moorland

Avenue, was 72, the opening of

an inquest in Torquay heard on

Wednesday.

Coroner’s officer Stephanie

Teague said no note had been found.

There were no suspicious circumstances.

Mrs Teague said the medical cause

of death had been ascertained as

hanging.

She said the body was identified

by the widow Sally Guppy, a retired

school caretaker.

The Plymouth, Torbay and South

Devon coroner Ian Arrow adjourned

the inquest to a future date.
