TEIGNMOUTH have been left in limbo after the referee had no choice but to abandon the match at half-time as Topsham ran out of front row forwards.
Bitton Park's director of rugby Bob Farrell said: 'Topsham started the game with a player qualified to cover the front row. However, he started the match in the centre and got injured so was unable to come into their front row when needed.
'As I understand it there are three options available – we can either go back to 0-0 and replay, or 0-0 and be awarded the game, or have the result with the scored points as they stood at the time of abandonment.'
In the half that might count, the Teigns racked up seven tries, including a penalty try, plus five conversions from fly-half Ivan Pitman.
Flying winger Will Sowden added three more tries to his newly-established club record of 26.
Flanker Mark Annals went in from a well-worked tap penalty move and winger Chris Tidman picked up a couple of touchdowns.
Although officially abandoned, the game continued for another 25 minutes with uncontested scrums.
During this time the scoreboard ticked along to 76-8 with Sowden adding two more tries.
