NEWTON?ABBOT MP Anne Marie Morris has been described as a 'redoubtable campaigner' in her parliamentary lobbying for progress on the Teignmouth flood defence scheme.
The accolade came from Richard Benyon, the parliamentary under-secretary of state for environment, food and rural affairs, during a debate at Westminster Hall about flooding.
She urged the minister to agree on what plans would be approved, and added: 'In Teignmouth, we really need a flood defence scheme.'
In reply, Mr Benyon said: 'The member for Newton Abbot (Ms Morris) is a redoubtable campaigner on behalf of her constituents for flood alleviation in her constituency.
