AN all female singing group will bring some festive cheer to Teignmouth this December while raising money for a charity close to its members’ hearts.

Red Rock Acapella will perform its Christmas Concert at the Pavilions Teignmouth on Friday, December 4, at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £15.50, with tickets for children aged 12 and under priced at £12.50.

The group, which was founded in 2010, now has more than 30 members from across the local area, ranging in age and musical experience.

Its repertoire includes barbershop, pop, rock and festive favourites.

Red Rock Acapella is part of the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers (LABBS), a nationwide organisation supporting women who sing barbershop music.

During the past year, the group has performed at a variety of local events, including Teignmouth Pride and the Teignmouth and Dawlish Carnivals.

Members have also taken part in competitions in Spain and at the Exeter Music Festival.

The group has chosen Endometriosis UK as its charity for this year’s concert.

Chairperson Kylie Malloy, who has been a member of Red Rock Acapella for almost 15 years, said she wanted to help raise awareness of endometriosis.

She said endometriosis is not discussed enough despite the impact it can have on women’s physical and mental health, while diagnosis can take a long time and treatment options can be limited.

Red Rock Acapella has previously raised money for Rowcroft Hospice, Teignmouth Orangery and the Alice Cross Day Centre.
