POLICE in Bickington have seized three vehicles during enforcement action targeting uninsured and untaxed drivers.
Officers initially stopped one vehicle for having no insurance and no road tax.
While a recovery truck was loading the seized vehicle, a second unlawfully driven vehicle was spotted nearby and was also seized at the scene.
This meant the recovery truck left carrying two vehicles.
Under Section 165A of the Road Traffic Act 1988, police have powers to seize vehicles driven without insurance, the correct licence, or valid vehicle excise duty.
The Ashburton and Chudleigh policing team said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to remove illegal vehicles from the roads and improve safety.
Drivers are reminded to ensure their vehicles are fully compliant before driving.
