TEIGNMOUTH-based indie-rock band The Quails will shortly be flying to Turkey to headline a major arts and culture festival in the historic city of Van.
Called Festivan, the event is an EU funded festival and aims to foster good relations between Turkey and other European countries by bringing the music and culture of seven different nations together.
Accompanying the Quails will be a camera and production crew from Exeter-based Pangaea TV, who will provide a fly on the wall documentary of the experience.
The band's lead singer Dan Steer said: 'I'm really looking forward to going somewhere different and meeting people and musicians from a completely different culture.
'I'm excited that Pangaea are coming with us, documenting us on our adventure and I hope they capture a side of us that people don't see in our home town of Teignmouth.'
The Quails are fast gaining a reputation as one of the most impressive bands to emerge recently.
They have a full summer ahead with gigs at Beach Break Live, Somerrock, Budfest and Cellarstock.
In August the band will support Motorhead on the main stage at the biggest bike festival in the country, the Bulldog Bash.
They will also be headlining Teignmouth Carnival in July.
