A TEIGNMOUTH supermarket has donated £1,000 to three charities that help the lonely and homeless over Christmas in Teignmouth and Dawlish.

Waitrose at Teignmouth provided the cash from its community matters initiative, and shared it between the Alice Cross Centre at Teignmouth and The Strand Church in Dawlish, which between them treat around 130 people to a sumptuous Christmas lunch, and Homeless in Teignbridge Support (Hits), which provides transport and other support to those suffering hardship over the festive period.
