A POST-MORTEM examination was being carried out this morning on the Compton teenager found dead in the River Dart over the weekend.

Nathan Wood, 16, a pupil at KEVICC in Totnes, is thought to have fallen into the Dart on Friday after being seen running naked along the river path at the back of his school.

It’s been reported that the youngster may have been under the influence of a psychoactive drug at the time.

The examination was taking place at Torbay Hospital.

Formal identity of Nathan, whose body was found in the river on the Dartington estate on Sunday, was expected this afternoon.

An inquest to confirm evidence of identity only is expected to be opened in Torquay tomorrow or Thursday.
