RESIDENTS are up in arms over a plan to build a large 'factory-like' woodchip biomass boiler complex with twin chimneys in the heart of an upmarket Teignmouth residential area.

They fear the boiler might also burn clinical and other unsuitable waste material at the White House care home for people with dementia and other disabilities in Woodway Road, at the junction with Haldon Avenue.

There are also concerns it could release pollutants into the air and devalue properties.
