TEIGNBRIDGE residents have just four days left to tell the Government’s boundary commission what they think of proposals for new council ward boundaries across the district.
The public consultation closes on Monday, October 31.
The commission wants to hear as much evidence as possible in order to develop final recommendations for Teignbridge.
The commission’s draft recommendations propose Teignbridge District Council should have 47 councillors in the future, one more than the current number. The proposals mean those councillors would represent four three-member wards, fourteen two-member wards and seven single-member wards across the district.
Professor Colin Mellors, chairman of the commission, said: ‘We’re keen to hear local views about our boundary proposals before we finalise them in January 2017.
‘We want to make sure ward boundaries across Teignbridge reflect the identities and interests of local communities as well as delivering electoral fairness for voters.
‘This is your last chance to have your say before we finalise the recommendations.’
Recommendations and detailed maps are available on the commission’s main website at www.lgbce. org.uk/current-reviews /southwest/devon/ teignbridge.
