LEADER of the Lib Dems in Teignbridge Gordon Hook romped home to retain his seat at County Hall today. Councillor Hook fought off his rivals, including district councillor Dennis Smith, and will continue to represent the people of Newton Abbot South for another four years. Some 34 per cent of people flocked to the polling stations yesterday. Cllr Hook said: ‘I am overwhelmed by the size of the vote and I’m incredibly proud to be given another four years. ‘I would like to thank all of the residents and I am truly delighted to be serving again. ‘I will strive to put the interest of the environment, school children and the elderly before anything else. ‘Our aim now is to take back control of Teignbridge Council.’
