LONG-SERVING Conservative councillor George Gribble had a comfortable victory in Bovey rural to retain his seat. With a margin of 784 votes, he had no trouble beating off competition from Lib Dem Sally Morgan. Describing his win, Cllr Gribble said he felt ‘tickety boo’. He said: ‘I would like to thank people for their support. ‘There have been a few shocks today and a few disappointed councillors. ‘I think the boundary changes have affected some.’ He said locally the Conservatives had benefitted from the national picture and the strength of Prime Minister Theresa May.
