DEVON and Cornwall Police spent close to £14million on overtime last year, a Freedom of Information (FOI) request has revealed.
The force‘s overtime bill came to £13,888,538 in the 2024/25 financial year, the FOI request shows.
This was despite its allocated budget for overtime being £11,297,602.
The overtime payments include those paid to police officers, PCSOs and police staff.
Another FOI request revealed the 2023/24 spend on overtime was £12,194,703, with one officer earning £45,564 on top of their annual salary.
