A NAUGHTY dog has forced its owners to put in a planning application to raise the height of their garden wall.
Mr I Dodge is hoping to extend his wall in Forde Park, Newton Abbot, from 1.2m to 1.6m in a bid to stop his pet leaping over the wall and breaking free.
The documents were scrutinised by the town council’s planning committee on Tuesday.
But the scheme failed to impress the planners with Cllr Mike Ryan branding it the Berlin Wall.
Unhappy Cllr Mike Pilkington felt uneasy about the plans.
He said: ‘Walls are part of the heritage of the park. The park is a major area of conservation.
‘The houses were built in the mid 19th century and that wall has been there for 150 to 160 years.
‘These people can put a fence up on the inside to stop their dog jumping.’
Members agreed to recommend refusal of the application but Teignbridge Council will have the final say.
