PLANNERS have vetoed a bid to allow a proposed takeaway in Teignmouth town centre to stay open until 3am at weekends, because it might disturb residents.
Mr M Papanicolaou had already been granted permission to change the use of a retail shop at 22 Regent Street, next to his Finn McCools fish and chip cafe, to a hot food takeaway, opening between 11am to 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, and until midnight on other nights.
But he has now been refused consent to extend the opening until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays, and to 12.45am from Sundays to Thursdays.
