SLEEPWALKERS can register for the ladies’ night-time walk for Rowcroft Hospice from Wednesday, January 18.

This year the popular annual Sleep Walk is pirate-themed and takes place on Saturday, July 8. Participants can complete a five-mile or 10-mile circular walk along Paignton and Torquay seafronts, from sunset into the night.

Mid-Devon Advertiser readers can sign up online at www.rowcroftsleepwalk.org.uk from 10.30am on January 18 for the discounted price of £15 per adult using discount code MDA17.

Organisers are expecting more than 2,000 ladies to join in the fundraising event.

Daniel Robson, of the hospice, said: ‘We’re delighted to announce the Rowcroft Sleep Walk 2017 will soon be open for entry and are already looking forward to a night of fun alongside the seven seas in support of thousands of local families living with life-limiting illnesses in south Devon.’

This year’s Sleep Walk is more important to Rowcroft than ever, as the hospice continues its battle to regain financial stability following a drastic funding shortfall in 2016.

Acting chief executive Jon Hill said: ‘For all the ladies who’ve always considered taking part in the Rowcroft Sleep Walk but haven’t, we ask that you please join us this year and help to support your local hospice and local families who need our help.

‘Every pound you’re able to raise in sponsorship by signing up and taking part will make a huge difference and help to secure Rowcroft’s future and the care provided to people across south Devon – your friends, neighbours and loved ones – for many years to come.’

The hospice is also inviting volunteers to help at the event and register their interest at www.rowcroftsleepwalk.org.uk.
