A PETROL station off the A38 is set to install an electric vehicle charging point as planners approve new proposals.
Submitted by Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the application - reference 26/00751/FUL - sought permission for two electric vehicle (EV) charging points, with four electric vehicle bays at Telegraph Hill Service Station.
The application also sought permission to remove and replace the existing jet wash, air unit and vacuum unit.
The covering letter for the application said: ‘MFG’s proposal to install new EV charging points at the petrol filling station site should be considered positively in light of the national context and the demand for the necessary infrastructure to support electric vehicle use across the UK.
‘The proposals will contribute positively to the existing EV charging network, to the benefit of those utilising the strategic highway network surrounding the application site.
‘The proposals will enhance the existing offer at the site, without compromising the efficient operation of the facility’.
And Teignbridge Council have granted planning permission.
‘The development hereby permitted shall begin before the expiry of three years from the date of this permission’, the council said.
