CREWS from Dawlish and Teignmouth Fire Stations rescued persons trapped by floodwater over the weekend.

On Sunday, September 17, firefighters from Dawlish and Teignmouth were mobilised to a report of persons trapped inside two vehicles by floodwater in the lanes above Teignmouth.

Crews in water rescue dry suits helped the occupants to safely leave their vehicles and make their way to dry land for onward transport.

Elsewhere, due to the number of emergency calls coming in, the Dawlish crew then joined crews from across Devon at the Forward Command Point (FCP) where they were tasked to a number of further calls throughout the afternoon.

The crew returned to Dawlish at seven o'clock for a good wash down of both the vehicle and equipment.
