THE councillor in charge of trying to improve parking in Teignmouth, is ‘angry’ after apparently being accused of having a ‘personal interest’ in the matter.

Cllr Terry Falcao, who is also the deputy mayor, chairs the working party which for years has been striving to come up with solutions to the chronic on and off-street parking problems. The group is made up of town, district and county councillors, resident representatives and local traders.

Last month he received a letter from the town centre partnership – another group of interested parties, which meets in private – regarding ‘a perception’ that the working party was influenced by personal interests.
