Sean Brogan, Trade Union Socialist Coalition, of Coombe Vale Road,Teignmouth, writes:For many months every edition of your paper has carried the assuredly smiling face of Anne Marie Morris (Conservative), coupled with constant advertisement reminders that Richard Cares (Liberal Democrat). These have been inserted by the two main incumbents for the General Election which is rapidly approaching, with a possible announcement by Brown at the end of March. They both want your vote and will do anything to convince you that they are worthy of it. Fortunately your paper is exposing the reality of this 'caring'. Ms Morris' colleagues at Devon county level are busy cutting our youth support in Teignmouth and Mr Younger-Ross' colleagues are salami slicing the budget in Teignbridge (Post 5/2/10). I am not surprised at their supine position given their national leaders' insistence that 'immediate' and 'savage' cuts must be made to save us. They know that areas such as Devon rely greatly on public expenditure for jobs and conditions of life. Asking people to pay for the corruption that exists at the top, financial and political, smacks of a strange morality. Voting for either of them, will mean being like turkeys voting for Christmas. I have no truck with New Labour as it is pursuing the same line, determined to make those not responsible for the economic crisis pay for it. Taking a stand against this injustice is possible, with anti-cuts, anti-corruption candidates beginning to stand across the country. Unlike the main parties we cannot afford the generous budget available but information is available at http://www.tusc.org.uk">www.tusc.org.uk.
