FUNDRAISERS enjoyed a paella evening in Cockwood to support Dawlish Community Transport.

The ‘fun, enjoyable and tasty’ evening was held at the Ship Inn to raise vital funds for the charity.

The charity thanked former councillors Ted Hockin and John Clatworthy for organising the event and the raffle.

Ted and John have been organising the Spanish-themed suppers since 2009, and since then have held an impressive 33 Iberian evenings.

During that time they have raised funds for numerous charities including the former Rotary Club.

The latest event was in benefit of the community transport charity when 40-plus guests turned up to tuck into a taste of sunny Spain.

The proceeds totalled some £200 which was presentred to the charity team by the Ship Inn’s Heather Brown.

Organiser Ted said how grateful they were for the ‘super friendly’ team at the Ship Inn and the ‘amazing’ food.
