THE Queen ‘exemplified public service’ across the world, says Teignbridge Council Leader Cllr Alan Connett.

In his tribute Cllr Connett said: ‘‘This is a very sad day for our country and the commonwealth.

‘The passing of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll is a great loss.

‘I am sure the nation’s thoughts and prayers are with the Queen’s family at this sad time.

‘The Queen has exemplified public service across the globe for 70 years and the deep affection of millions of people for The Queen has been demonstrated this year as nations celebrated her service.’
