Viv Wilson, of osmonds Lane, Teignmouth, writes:
Teignmouth Orangery was officially reopened on Saturday by Cllr Sylvia Russell, chairman of Teignbridge Council, and Joan Felthouse who, together with her late husband John, had been a driving force behind the Orangery for many years.
Several people who had worked hard for the unique structure were honoured, including the late Alfred Burgess, one of the original Friends. It was a pleasant hour with speeches, Bucks Fizz, an orange cake and a tinkling piano.
The Orangery is now a feature to be proud of and it must be hoped that the mindless attacks that it has been subjected to in the past will cease.
The Orangery needs all the friends it can get in this new episode of its life.
