AN eruption of bird of paradise flowers in the orangery greeted the Friends of Teignmouth Orangery when they arrived for their annual meeting

After its upgrading by Teignbridge Council four years ago, the orangery has come into its own.

A strong group of supporters is continuing with the vision created by an enthusiastic group of residents who set out to restore it from its ruinous state in the 1980s.

Orangery chairman Mary Purchase introduced the speaker, Lisa Pash, who gave a talk about Shaldon Botanical Gardens.
