THE vice-chairman of Newton Abbot’s branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) has been recognised for his commitment, support and outstanding service.
The Devon county branch of the armed forces charity recently held its annual general meeting at South Molton.
The meeting was attended by Jan Buxton, trustee from Haig House London, who spoke about the future visions of the RBL.
Also in attendance was Newton Abbot’s Richard Underhill, member of the Newton Abbots branch for many years.
Richard was presented with a Gold Badge, awarded in recognition of commitment, support and outstanding service to the town’s branch, the community, the county and the armed forces community generally.
‘I was humbled to receive the award, it was totally unexpected’ Richard said.
