A LOCAL photography club will showcase the work of its members at an exhibition at Stover Country Park later this month.

Newton Abbot Photographic Club’s free exhibition will run from 10am to 4pm between August 29 and 31 at the visitor’s centre.

The club, which was founded in 1942, has championed photography for more than 80 years.

While photography was once considered an elitist hobby, the club says advances in digital technology have made it far more accessible, although some members continue to enjoy the challenge of film.

The club meets on Tuesday evenings from September to April at the Courtenay Centre in Newton Abbot.

New members are welcome to join and share their interest in photography.
