A TOTAL of £2,000 was raised for the Dame Hannah Rogers Trust at this year’s Newton Abbot Charity Town Ball, which also saw a raffle and silent auction.

Guests were treated to live music from Diamond Life and students from Coombeshead Academy, Newton Abbot, as well as a clarinet performance from Peter Martin.

Among those attending were the mayor of Newton Abbot Cllr Mike Ryan, deputy mayor Cllr Liz Roberts, Newton Abbot MP Anne Marie Morris and the leader of Teignbridge Council, Cllr Jeremy Christophers.

Sue Davie, chairman of the ball, said: ‘We were pleased to see so many new guests and to welcome back many of our regulars.

‘I would like to thank all of those attending for their support and look forward to seeing them again in 2016.

‘I would particularly like to thank the members of the organising committee – Chrissi, Evelyn, Jan, Mike, Maddy, Emma, Ingrid and Martin – for without their efforts, the event would not be possible.’
