A VILLAGE on Dartmoor is looking to replace its welcome signs with new boulders.

Submitted by North Bovey Parish Council, the application - reference 0111/26 - is seeking planning permission to replace the three existing metal village entry signs with granite boulders with the village name carved into each stone.

The parish council wants to replace the existing signs, which have been in place for many years, with a more ‘visually sympathetic form of marker that is consistent with the landscape character of Dartmoor National Park’.

The boulders, which have been gifted to the parish council by an anonymous benefactor, will be situated on the existing verges.
