A NEW Pilates studio could open in Newton Abbot as a planing application is submitted to Teignbridge Council.

Submitted by Campion&Co Ltd, the application - reference 26/00285/FUL - is seeking permission to create a Pilates studio at 94 Queen Street, pictured.

While the application is seeking change-of-use, a treatment room for beauty services will be retained.

No structural alterations, extensions, or demolition are proposed, and the scale, footprint, and overall form of the mid-19th century Italianate terrace building will remain unchanged.

Externally, the only alteration will be an updated fascia signage reflecting the new business branding, the design and access statement for 26/00285/FUL says.

‘The signage will be proportionate and sympathetic to the character of the listed building and surrounding terrace’, the statement reads.

Teignbridge Council are expected to make a decision by April 22.
