NEW Mayor of Dawlish Cllr Anne Heywood took a tour of the town, meeting businesses and community groups.

She said: ‘It was a fantastic opportunity to talk about the important work being carried out by some of our local charities and community organisations.

‘We discussed how businesses may be able to support these vital causes by hosting collection tins and helping raise awareness within our community.’

Cllr Heywood’s charities for the coming year are Dawlish Community Larder, Dawlish Community Aid Hubstore and Dawlish Community Transport.

She added: ‘It was also a great reminder of how important it is to shop locally and support our independent traders, who play such a valuable role in keeping Dawlish vibrant and welcoming for residents and visitors alike.

'It is always inspiring to see the strength of community spirit here in Dawlish. Together, we can continue making a positive difference for local residents.’
