LONG term resident Sonia McCauley has joined the small team at Bovey Tracey Town Council where she now serves as Deputy Clerk.

Delighted to have been selected, she said: ‘My family and I love the town, having enjoyed all it has to offer for many years.

‘I’m excited to be part of the team who will be navigating the opportunities and challenges local government reorganisation will bring.’

Mayor Cllr Sheila Brooke said: ‘We’re thrilled to have Sonia join us and help our authority work even more efficiently.

‘Credit to Town Clerk Mark Wells who has steered the ship singlehandedly and still managed to secure us the National Association of Local Councils Silver Quality Award.

‘I can see them working very well together and delivering a smooth and professional administration for the residents and businesses of Bovey Tracey and Heathfield.’
