A PARISH council’s bid to expand its parking provision has been given the green-light.

The application, submitted by Hugo Davies Architect on behalf of Broadhempston Parish Council, sought permission for nine car parking spaces in the village.

25/00631/FUL aimed to create a row of parallel parking with nine spaces, increasing the number of spaces in the centre of the village by five - from four in the square to nine in the new site.

The site is located beside the access road to the village hall; it is adjacent to an existing car park that serves residents

And Teignbridge District Council (TDC) have granted planning permission.

‘The development hereby permitted shall begin before the expiry of three years from the date of this permission [October 2]’, the council said.

Broadhempston Parish Council intends to reduce parking on the village square so that it can be made into a flexible community space, hence its application.
