TEIGNMOUTH’S seafront tourist information office is on the move.

It will transfer into the nearby new Teignmouth Pavilions in the new year, after decades of finding accommodation and generally helping holidaymakers.

To reflect changing tourist trends, it will be known as an ‘information point’, and manned by Pavilions staff who will be trained for the role. There will be no jobs lost, and the existing three TIC staff – one full-time and two part-time – redeployed elsewhere.

The future use of the bureau has still to be decided.

The news was given to town councillors on Tuesday by Michelle Taylor, Teignbridge tourism and marketing officer.
