A POST mortem has failed to discover what killed a 46 year-old man found dying in a burning Teignmouth house.

It was carried out at Torbay Hospital on Tuesday and samples from the body were sent for laboratory histology and toxicology tests that should ascertain the cause of death.

The man has been named locally as Peter Ward, who was unemployed and with family connections in the Midlands. A formal identification was due to be carried out this week by a relative. He is understood to have lived there for about a year.
