HUNDREDS  of bikers are expected to descend on the Teignmouth Den for the annual ride out on behalf of Devon Air Ambulance.

There will also be an afternoon of free live entertainment on Sunday, July 9.

The line up of local bands include Littermouth, Five Finger Discount, Thick as Thieves and The Rock Section, with tech provided by Big Bear Recordings.

Friends and families of the riders, as well as locals and holidaymakers, are being encouraged to  come along and enjoy the afternoon.

Other attractions will be trade stands and refreshments, including Black Tor Brewery’s Down Draught, brewed in celebration of  the air ambulance’s 25th year of service, and a bouncy castle for the kids.

Littermouth, who performoriginal self-penned material covering a broad range of up-tempo rock genres from classic and funky to indie and art – think Led Zep, Chili Peppers and Muse – will be opening the event at 1pm.

Five Finger Discount will be returning to perform for their third year at the Ride Out. An up-beat three-piece, they combine their many shared and varied influences, including hip-hop, ska, drum ’n’ bass, folk and reggae to create their own harmonious blend of lyrical hip-pop and will be performing from 2pm.

Thick as Thieves, also regular performers at the Ride Out, will be on at 3pm performing favourite upbeat pop anthems from the ’60s onwards.

The Rock Section pack a large and tightly-arranged saxophone section into a small band, backed by a solid rock-guitar and vocals, in effect a five-piece rock orchestra, and will perform at 4pm covering a range from progressive to punk. They will be wrapping up the event at 5pm.

Fundraising director Caroline Creer said: ‘The ride out is always a popular event, and the afternoon is a great family outing.

‘We are extremely appreciative to the bands who help to make it a brilliant afternoon and we look forward to seeing lots of supporters enjoying the free entertainment.’
